The future’s so bright, I gotta wear shades…

So today I received some great news.  I had applied for an open position at another branch and I was offered the position.  So I am going to be the Head Teller in a new branch!  I’m really sad to be leaving my coworkers, but this is an amazing opportunity for me and I can’t wait to get started.

So over the next few weeks I should learn more about my new role, have some training and get acclimated.  But for now, I’m just really, really, really excited!  And on that note, it’s time to end!

All for now,

This weekend was an interesting.  I was off Monday the 8th, then continued to work through the weekend.  We are converting to a new system at work!  This is round two for me.  This is nothing new for me, I went through this at the Credit Union, so I know what it’s like.  It was still a shitty way to spend my Valentine’s night.  And then to boot I had to go in on President’s day (a Federal holiday), so my next paycheck will be amazing!  With that being said, I am really tired.  My next day off is Saturday, and I am so looking forward to it.

Yesterday I worked from 2:30-8, it was a chore to have to go to work not only on Sunday, but also on Valentine’s day.  For what we had to accomplish, I finished pretty quickly then I pretty much sat around for a while.  And that was no fun.  At least they fed us and paid us OT.  Oh, and we could wear “casual clothes” I took that to mean jeans and Uggs.  Because it was literally freezing all weekend.

Today I worked from 8-12, after work I went to lunch with my MIL, we tried a different restaurant and we were not thrilled.  Needless to say we won’t be going back.  I’m not even going to get into how deplorable the food and service was, it’s not worth it.  The rest of my day was spent doing laundry, paying bills, and I took a much needed nap.

Also can we just talk for a moment about how it’s the middle of February?  Like, hello, where did the month go?  I can’t believe it!  February always goes so quickly.  I feel like I never get a chance to catch my breath.  And on that note, it’s time to end!

Career opportunities are the ones that never knock…

Changing jobs can be scary, but I was more than ready for a change of scenery.  I will miss my CU family, but I was very excited to start fresh at the Bank.  Since it was my first day I wanted to wear something super professional and classic.  I decided pretty early on that I would wear my Calvin Klein suit.  It’s black, has a slightly more modern cut which is nice, because sometimes pant suits can make you look and feel like a politician.  I also wore my favourite black patent leather Ivanka Trump pumps, and for my blouse I decided on my oldie but goodie, black pussy bow blouse from NY & Co., it’s a blouse that has been in my rotation for about five years, and it still looks great, fits well, and always makes an ensemble look put together.  I kept my make up tasteful, as one should, I also kept my accessories to a minimum, I wore pearl earrings (GASP! I wore matching earrings, who would have ever thunk it…).

My first day consisted of getting up super early to get ready.  I spent a lot of time blowing my hair out and doing my nails yesterday.  I drank a bit more coffee than I’d like to admit, before heading off to work.  Orientation was just as expected, I got a photo taken for my identification badge, I was issued an access thing, we filled out paperwork, got set up for systems that we need to access, and we were given a lot of information.  I had an hour for lunch which was amazing, I hardly knew what to do with myself (I haven’t had an hour for lunch in a very long time).  In the cafeteria they have these super fancy coffee makers that grind the beans then brew coffee, it can even make an Americano, or a Cappuccino!  Tomorrow is another day of training, I’m looking forward to this new chapter of my life, and career.  And on that note it’s time to end.

Until we say "goodbye" and "I’ll try to see you when the weather clears"…

I did it, I made it through my last day of work at the CU.  It was hard, mainly because I called that place my home for the past five years.  I had been through a lot there.  I grew a lot as a person, got married, had a few promotions, and made some great friends.  In the typical send off there was a card and cake.  My co worker and friend also splurged on some Chanel nail polish, which was extremely nice and unexpected.  I can’t wait to do my nails tomorrow.  I was very proud of myself, I didn’t cry, I really held it together, and I have a day off before I start my next chapter in my career.  And while I am very excited about my new job, I can’t help but feel a little sad to be leaving.  I’m really shit a goodbyes anyway.  And on that note, it’s time to end!

I walked a thousand miles to find one river of peace…

Today was a busy day, I’m on my third load of laundry, the third post I’ve worked on today.  I put all of my clean clothes away.  Decided my ensemble for tomorrow and watched the 2015 Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix.  My man Vettel crashed out, but that’s okay, there’s always Brazil in two weeks!   J also made some eggplant Parmesan which was amazing!  This week is going to be very interesting, being that it is my last full week at the Credit Union, before I start my new job at a different local financial institution on the 12th.  I also think I finalized my order for the upcoming Sephora VIB Rouge sale, with a 20% off coupon I am looking forward to picking up some old faves and some new splurges!

The rest of the weekend entailed of having lunch with J, MIL, and my Sister at the Hoffman House.  I had the pasta special with mussels, shrimp, and clams over ligiuni with an herb lemon butter sauce, my Sister had the pulled chicken BBQ sandwich, it looked really good, I think we might need to try it next time, J had the chicken Marsala sandwich, another fave, and MIL had the lamb sandwich.  After lunch my Sister and I did a little shopping at the local mall.  She wanted to go to Old Navy to use up the remainder of her gift cards and FYE to see if she could get a new CD to listen to in her car.  I found two POP! Toys that I had been looking for Pin Head for J and Pumpkin King Jack for me!  Luckily FYE was having a sale buy one get one half off, so they weren’t too bad.  And on that note it’s time to end!
