For you, there’s only love…

It’s September, Labor day has come and passed, Summer is just about over, I turned 28 like a minute ago, and I am eight months along.  Where the hell has the time gone?  J and I have been making some headway with the nursery.  Something we have been neglecting.  I can’t wait to have the nursery done so I can start setting up for baby girl!

I’ve started to incorporate some A/W maternity pieces I picked up a while ago, and I ordered a pair of flat Frye lace up boots (similar) so I can have more than one pair of shoes for work.  I’m hoping to break them in relatively quickly.  I’ve never owned a pair of Frye boots before, but there is a first time for everything!  I also have been incorporating some more sweaters.  I went shopping with a friend a few weeks ago and found a few steals that I have worn a couple of times.  I am still rocking my black maxi dress (similar, not maternity) just now with a cardi for a more A/W look.  It’s really turned into quite the transitional piece, it’s really comfy and I don’t feel bad about wearing it at least once a week!  I’m pretty pleased with myself surviving through my pregnancy and only buying a minimal amount of maternity clothing.  I think I did really well incorporating non-maternity pieces and my existing wardrobe  to accommodate my growing belly.

In baby news, little girl is growing, kicking up a storm and I am measuring a week small!  Something I am not opposed to, one of my doctors said she could be around 7 lbs!  J and I have been going to birthing class and trying to prepare for labor, if one can ever really prepare!  It’s crazy to think that we only have about 6 weeks left.  Where did all the time go?  And on that note it’s time to end!

Summer has come and passed…

It’s the end of September and that means it’s time to share some of my favourite things!  As always this month was incredibly busy, much busier that usual.  I feel as though I barely accomplished what I wanted too.  Anyway, without further ado, my favourite things…

1. Fall TV is back – All of my favourite shows have either started up again or they will be shortly.  Castle and Gotham are probably the two I was most excited about.  Doctor Who started out with a very surprising bang as well.  And as always there are some new shows I’ve been waiting for like Limitless and Scream Queens.  Stay tuned, this is going to be a great season!

2. It’s sweater weather – OMG, I wait for this all year long.  I was hoping to get a few new ones, but J always hovers over my laptop the moment I start to shop, telling me that I don’t need anymore sweaters.  What he doesn’t know, is that they are all different, whether it’s the style, material, or weight.  I managed to score three new sweaters thanks to the J.Crew clearance, I went with men’s styles this time, because the colours were great, the styles classic, and the prices were fantastic.  I do own over fifty sweaters, that’s 5-0, but who cares, no big deal, I want more!  In reality I’m just on the hunt for a white 3/4 sleeve cardi and a long sleeve black pull over.  And then I should be set for a while.

3. Nars Orgasm lip gloss – I’m not normally a gloss person, but this is to die for.  It’s the perfect peachy pink shade with a hint of shimmer.  It’s just sticky enough, with out clumping and being gross.  I find that it pairs well with Makeup Forever No. 9 which I am currently wearing out!

I kept the list pretty short this month.  I’ve been so busy that I have hardly had a chance to enjoy anything long enough to talk about anything.  And on that note, it’s time to end!

All for now,

Bluer than velvet was the night…

My September Sephora order arrived the other day, and I was finally able to take some pictures of my purchases!  I didn’t go to crazy this time, because I just opened some stuff up and I am looking forward to using up the make up purchases that I made earlier in the year.  This order was mainly skin care, and I majorly splurged on Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Oil.  I never should have asked for a sample, I knew it was going to be trouble!  I figured since I used up all of my sample that I might as well just get the full size, I haven’t really used a retinol before and now that I am practically 27 I think it might be time to step up my anti-aging routine.

I waited all year to get my Nars VIB Rouge birthday gift.  I am very excited to use the lip pencils, I think the rose shade Rikugien I will favor over the scarlet red Cruella, either way I think the size of the pencils is good, and with how I am with lippies I think they will last a long time.  The eyeliner is Via Veneto a basic black, I typically only wear powder eyeliner but I am excited to try the pencil, I might have more control than my liquid, which is not easy for me to use.  I restocked on Purity and Microdelivery, I don’t want to be with out either, I picked up the 8 o.z. size of both, I will pick up the larger sizes the next coupon code.  I typically use Purity in the morning, I love the light scent and I fell is wakes my skin up.  I use Microdelivery when in the shower, I feel it works better in the steam.  I had to order the full size GLAMGLOW SuperMUD, it was just so amazing and cleared my black heads better than anything else that I have ever used before or after, even though the price tag is hefty, it’s still worth it.  I restocked on Fresh Seaberry Oil, it was the only thing this past winter that made my skin look normal, so I picked up another full size, I’m about half way through my current bottle. I went for something new in regards to eye cream, L’Occitane Immortelle Eye Balm had the best reviews on Sephora’s site and I am so over the Fresh Lotus eye gel, it’s calming and refreshing, but it makes me tear and that is not ideal in my book.  I picked up more Rosebud Salve, I love this stuff, a pot lasts forever and it smells amazing.  I picked up a Shisiedo powder refill, I just noticed I hit the bottom of the pan in my current one, so I’m glad I have a back up.  I also went for the Sephora brand lip brush, I needed a new one and this is perfect, I also got the brand’s eye make up remover  Right now I’m using a deluxe sample from Lancome, it’s okay, and I wanted to find something a little less expensive.  I also got a couple of point perks, Benefit Roller Lash was something I have been wanting to try, I also got Perricone MD moisturizer, I’m not too familiar with the brand, but I tried it out and it’s okay, the texture is very balmy, it tingles a bit and it smells citrus-y.  The Mircale Worker moisturizer was a weekly special with code ULTIMATE.

As far as packaging goes The real winner here is Sunday Riley, not only was the bottle sleek and refined, the box it came in was incredibly sturdy and the oil was safe in it’s jar.  I like that it has a dropper like the Seaberry oil does, I feel it’s easier to use that way.  I am in love with the L’Occitane eye cream jar, the deep blue is amazing, it looks like a sapphire soaking in the sun,  I know it will look just darling on my dresser.  And on that note, it’s time to end.

God bless the ocean…

Today starts September, my birth month!  Which means I am closer and closer to my 27th birthday.  Before I know it, I will be thirty… (do I have to get old?).  But before I throw in the towel (because thirty will be great, right?), let’s party like it’s 1927.  Complete with flapper dresses, bootleg booze, Tommy guns, and all things opulent.  Because that would be super rad!

I’ve already shared my birthday wishlist and my top J. Crew Autumn picks, but what I really want is a nice day with J, maybe a day trip or two (I took a long weekend off) maybe to visit the beach or Manhattan (if so, tea at the Plaza Hotel, please!), and maybe some light shopping.  And on that note, it’s time to end.

I wish it was Sunday, ‘Cause that’s my funday…

B. up to bowl, I’m next!

Sunday was a fun and busy day, my coworkers and I went bowling, we had such a blast!  I am officially the worst bowler, the kids, did better than me, even with the ball slide and the bumpers.  I did manage to get two strikes and a bunch of spares.  But, I, Kiki am the gutter ball Queen!  A bunch of us were able to bowl two games, have some food, beers and even some cake.  We chased the kids around (they are slippery little suckers)!  It was fun, though I was tired after, I don’t know how children have so much energy!  Even after two cups of coffee, I could not keep up!

My supervisor also announced that she is having a baby girl later this summer!  It was cute how we announced the gender, we had chocolate cake with white butter cream outside and purple frosting inside (she likes purple better than pink).  I’m excited because she’s due in September, and September babies are the best.  In addition to bowling I had the pleasure of hanging out with my mom for a bit.

Only my Mother would wear a coat to bowl.
Chillin’ between turns!
We had brunch, which consisted of coffee and treats from Starbucks, the vanilla bean scones they had Sunday were to die for!  Then after bowling we went to Macy’s and she got a Calvin Klein dress on sale and a sweater (I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree…).  I got these cool Tommy Hilfiger chinos, and the color is called Formula One?  Sold!  I had been wanting red or rose chinos for a while now, and I’m glad I could get them on sale.  Chinos are my go to for work or play, they go with everything and are a breeze to style.  Then once I got home I bit the bullet and ordered myself a camera, because taking photos with my old iphone4 is such a chore.  It should be arriving soon, and I couldn’t be more excited.  And on that note it’s time to end!

M and Z, she said she was the baby whisperer! Too cute!
