What do you get when you take Godzilla to the mall?

It’s hard to believe it, but July like totally flew by! As we look to August I thought I might share some of my favourite things!!

  1. The Nordstrom Anniversary sale – The biggest and best Nordies sale of the year, where else can you get in season new items up to 40% off? Two words: No where! Because of my low/no buy initiative that I try to follow, I bought things that I needed and a couple to clearance splurges. You can see what I picked up (here)
  2. Lust For Life – LDR’s latest record dropped, it’s worth a listen or two! You can check my take on the record (here).
  3. Nars Orgasm Lip Gloss– I have been using this gloss instead of a lipstick since I used up my whole tube of MAC VIVA Glam VI, I wanted something lighter for Summer, and I had a mini tube from a point perk. I like the light coverage, and the formula isn’t sticky.
  4. Game of Thrones – It’s here, Winter is here, and some major shit is about to go down! If you haven’t watched this show yet you should probably binge watch it and prepare to be blown away it has everything you need in a show: dragons, death, sociopaths, war, magic, and ice zombies among other things. The show is now in it’s seventh season and I can see some big things happening soon!
  5. Harney & Sons tea – My Head Teller (God bless her) loves this brand of tea, and tries almost all of them, the Japanese Sencha and Chinese Flower were two that weren’t her cup of tea #punsointended, so she gave me the tins. They are a bit expensive, but through amazon you can get big bags of loose tea! And sometimes its better to have the loose tea.

This post was very, very late because my laptop died… With my whole life on it. J is trying to salvage what he can, but as it stands my blog back up, novel, a few screenplays, countless songs and pictures are gone. Not to mention all of the years I have been collecting images and funny gifs… So stay tuned for updates, they might be even more irregular for a little bit until I sort out my life. And, on that not it’s time to end!

All for now,

So come on pretty baby, we’re going to raise a family…

So this is a bit late going up, and all of my close family and friends have already know, but here goes…  Last week I took a couple of days off of work to celebrate J’s birthday and on his birthday we found out what the tiny human I am growing is.  We are both very excited and we could not be happier.  So naturally I needed to pick out the perfect ensemble to be photographed in to share this news with everyone.  But the one colour appropriate dress I have is in the no way I am fitting my pregnant ass in that pile.  So, not to be boring, but I didn’t get around to taking pictures.  But J and I had a few wonderful days together and with out further ado…

It’s a little girl and let me just say I can not wait to have all of our ensembles match, and play  with Barbies , American Girl dolls and of course whatever she wants to play with.  I can teach her all about Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones (although not for a while on the last one!)  The fashion and my love of shoes I can pass down, my knowledge of classic rock and cult classics are uncanny.

Now comes the fun part of preparing the nursery and deciding on a name.  We have been discussing a few contenders, but we have not decided on the name yet.  I think the hardest part is choosing a name that flows well, that the initials don’t spell out something inappropriate, and that doesn’t sound made up.  Preparing the nursery is definitely the biggest to-do on the list.  We have picked out the colours and we have some repairs to do before we can get started on painting and decorating.  And on that note, it’s time to end!

All for now,

And my life is sweet like vanilla is…

After a long day at work, J and I headed to the grocery store to pick up ingredients that I need for the recipe I am sharing tomorrow!  This recipe is something that I have been making for a long time and is so easy and is enjoyed by almost everyone.  I am preparing this dish because we are having a food day at work, so I thought I’d kill tow birds with one stone.  I am super excited to share this one, stay tuned!  I then had my annual eye exam.  My left eye prescription changed slightly, while my right stayed the same.  I think it’s enough to notice so I up dated my glasses.  I have terrible vision, and I really dislike going to the doctor, but it is necessary, vision is one of the most important things.

In other news, Game of Thrones ended Sunday in a big way!  Cersei did the walk of shame, and boy was it nice to see her get her comeuppances, although I did feel for her when they (horribly, I might add) cut her hair off.  Maybe the pixie cut with trend throughout Westeros next season.  Arya Stark raised holy hell and killed Ser Meryn.  I was looking forward to her story line with the Faceless Men and then she went blind.  I hope it’s only temporary!  Dany seemingly is screwed and all of the Dothraki are probably going to try and kill her.  While Tyrion, Greyworm and Missandei watch over Mereen.  Gilly and Sam left the Wall for Old Town.  Theon finally grew a pair, killed that Myranda bitch and escaped with Sansa… Take that Ramsay!  And now let’s remember those we lost in the finale: Selsye, Stanis (by Brienne, perfect poetic justice), Myrcella and of course, Jon Snow.  The later I still do not believe is dead.  Why would Melissandre come back after fleeing Stannis just before his defeat.  She knows something!  And we went a whole season with out Bran, Rickon and Hodor!  I want more Hodor in season six!!!  And on that note, it’s time to end.

All for now,
Kiki

Then a smell of perfume…

This Sunday was the start of Game of Thrones, one of my favourite shows, while there will be no spoilers today I felt I needed to state that I am super excited that my show is back! Also yesterday I got to spend the afternoon with my parents who were excited that we came bearing treats. I baked sugar free  cinnamon swirl bread. It was a big hit.

Looking forward to next Sunday is launch day for Lilly Pulitzer at Target! (#buyalltheprettythings) Now I’m sure most of you have scoped out the offerings, complete with busy patterns, scalloped hems, and bright colours galore. I want it all, I will definitely be sharing my haul. I just hope I get up early enough to get the goods!

I’m also working on my spring/summer Sephora order, it’s already that time! I am looking to replace some favourites like foundation, Benefit POREfessional and Benetint, and rosebud salve. Splurge on some new nail polish for S/S, gel eye liner, Shiseido essence, Besame violet loose powder, and BB cream. I’ve never tried a BB cream before and I have only heard great things. I’m trying Shiseido, which along with Origins is quickly becoming my favourite brand. I am also going to try FAB face cream, I am starting to get low on my Fresh Lotus Youth preserve and I want to try something a bit less expensive and the reviews were mostly good. I’m going to make VIB ROUGE with my next order, it’s hard to believe that I’ve spent close to $1000.00 and it’s only April. I’m waiting to see if there are any coupon codes coming up soon, word on the BT boards there will be soon. I’m also waiting to see if I can redeem some of my reward points from work to get a gift card or two. And on that note it’s time to end.

All for now,
Kiki

Die for me…

It’s been an interesting few days. Lots more changes at work some good, bad and ugly. It will continue to be rough for a while which is fine, but also frustrating.  I got some new X-Ray specs (eyeglasses) two weeks ago and they are pretty awesome. Since it is starting to really warm up (except for today, when I woke up there was snow on the ground) I have been wearing more and more of my Spring clothing. Which is all I can talk about lately, but I can’t get enough of planning my ensembles. I have them planned for the rest of April. I have been watching a ton of TV lately, like Game of Thrones, Resurrection, and Supernatural. Can I just say how glad I am that that mother fucking cock sucking King Joffrey (excuse my choice words) finally got his and got dead? If ANYONE deserved to die on the show it was definitely him. although the lack of Jon Snow in Sunday’s episode was not cool… Easter is this Sunday, So Happy Zombie Jesus Day!
