Today’s ensemble reminds me of a tequila sunrise, the pink ombre skirt is really cool, I don’t really have anything like this in my wardrobe currently. This is a perfect ensemble for the warm afternoons we are currently experiencing in my neck of the woods. It would be so great to wear for brunch, after work happy hour, or a date night.
I am totally breaking one of my cardinal fashion rules, an oldie but one that I have held true for years. I’m wearing white before Memorial Day! I know, gasp! But more so, that I am so old fashioned rather than actually wearing white. Time and time again, it has been proven that anyone, can wear anything, at anytime, all one needs is the confidence to pull it off. So, I have been daydreaming about this look all Winter long, waiting for the warmer weather to share it! And I gotta say, it’s totally bad ass!
Any excuse I have to wear this shirt dress from Asos, it take full advantage, it’s just so comfortable and easy to wear. I typically need to wear a slip with it because it is semi-sheer. I also capitalize on wearing my DMs, because I’m still (I know) breaking these boots in, and it has not been so fun. But I love that this ensemble is so badass! It’s really in your face, and sassy. And on that note, it’s time to end!
This week I am sharing one of my favourite sun dresses. This dress is from the Lilly Pulitzer x Target collection from last year (last seen here). The pieces went very fast, and I was only able to snag a few pieces. This dress is perfect for Spring and Summer, and it has sea urchins all over it! So were #gettinnauti this week too!
This dress is great for a few reasons, I was actually able to purchase it and not over spend. It is great worn alone, or with a cardi. Can be styled for work or play and it fits really well, I’m wearing a small!
I paired this cardi/dress combo with my favourite vintage belt. This gold beauty came to me from J’s grandmother. It doesn’t have any hallmarks on it so I have no idea when or where it’s from. I do know that it is completely badass! And on that note, it’s time to end!
Now that it’s officially Spring, and mid April, I am really starting to break out my S/S pieces and wearing the heck out of them! And for this look we are #gettingnauti! I’ve mentioned here and there that I grew up by the beach, and it was an amazing experience, so naturally I have an affinity for all things nautical. Whether it’s fashion or home decor, if it’s nautical, I’m there.
I love this combo for Spring and Summer. The blue is beautiful, the sail boat is adorable, and this ensemble can easily be worn to the office, or out to brunch with the girls. And on that note, it’s time to end!
This week we are going a little more casual with this look. Yes, it can be work appropriate, or great for brunch on Sunday! These pieces are a couple of Spring favourites of mine from J. Crew Factory. I have amassed quite the J. Crew collection over the past few years and I really like the brand. Yes, they are technically “Fast Fashion” which I try to stay away from, but I find that the pieces I have invested in are of great quality and many have lasted for years, and will for years to come.
I love this blouse for a couple of reasons, the first being the adorable Peter Pan collar, the second being the eyelet pattern, and the third being how easy it is to wear. I’ve worn it with a skirt, a suit, jeans, or khakis like I’m sharing today. My flats are one of my favourite pairs of flats I own. I’ve had them for years, they are so comfortable, easy to wear and look great with just about anything. And on that note, it’s time to end!
This weeks ensemble is another great office look. I am a boring banker, and from 9-5ish, I have to dress like one. And I am not one to (always) abide by the rules (ah-em, Mcqueen!). With that being said I do try to colour in the lines at work. Now, working at the bank, the dress code is more lax than at my previous job at the credit union (with the exception of casual denim Saturdays), and I like to take advantage of the new found possibilities. This look is more on the classic side, and it mixes a classic colour combo black and cream.
This is one of my favourite looks for the office all year round. A blazer or cardigan can be added for the colder Autumn and Winter months. What’s your favourite office ensemble? And on that note, it’s time to end!
I shared some ideas for Easter dresses earlier in the week. Now, I’m sharing an ensemble. Easter is one of those holidays that isn’ really my cup of tea. If it was only about Cadbury Eggs and jelly beans I might be all for it, but that’s not the case. Anyway, here is a super spring like look to get you through church service.
I am loving this Alexander Mcqueen dress, OMG! It’s perfect, lady-like, flowy, and it exudes Spring. The clutch is also killing me. I love a floral, and this 3D clutch is amazing. I am so a Louboutin gal, And more recently I have opened myself up to suede and this pair is just darling. I can see this pair of pumps being styled a number of ways. And on that note, it’s time to end.
