It’s official, in a few short days I will have entered the last year of my twenties… 29, it seems like one of those “nothing good happens” ages, but I won’t know until I get there. So I decided to come up with a little wish list, since becoming a mother late last year I only buy things for myself that I need so any type of splurge is a treat!
- Virgo tee – J. Crew did a line of zodiac tees and I am lusting after the Virgo one (obviously, bonus points if you read that in Snape’s voice, #majordork), I’m it say’s exactivist, which for those of you who know a thing or two about the zodiac, it’s so fitting.
- Karl Lagerfeld x Vans – The line is dropping soon, and I am so excited, I’ve loved Lagerfeld’s work for a long time, and I grew up on the beach, Vans were a staple of shore life.
- Bad Bitch pallet – MAC announced a few pallets recently and the coolest one is the Bad Bitch, the colours are awesome, the name is awesome, and who wouldn’t want that?
I kept it short this year, I don’t really need a lot these are just some things that it would be nice to have. I’ll probably pick up the Virgo tee once it goes on sale, and I may be able to squeeze some extra money out of the budget to pick up a bithcin’ new pair of Vans! And on that note, it’s time to end!

It’s September, Labor day has come and passed, Summer is just about over, I turned 28 like a minute ago, and I am eight months along. Where the hell has the time gone? J and I have been making some headway with the nursery. Something we have been neglecting. I can’t wait to have the nursery done so I can start setting up for baby girl!
I’ve started to incorporate some A/W maternity pieces I picked up a while ago, and I ordered a pair of flat Frye lace up boots (similar) so I can have more than one pair of shoes for work. I’m hoping to break them in relatively quickly. I’ve never owned a pair of Frye boots before, but there is a first time for everything! I also have been incorporating some more sweaters. I went shopping with a friend a few weeks ago and found a few steals that I have worn a couple of times. I am still rocking my black maxi dress (similar, not maternity) just now with a cardi for a more A/W look. It’s really turned into quite the transitional piece, it’s really comfy and I don’t feel bad about wearing it at least once a week! I’m pretty pleased with myself surviving through my pregnancy and only buying a minimal amount of maternity clothing. I think I did really well incorporating non-maternity pieces and my existing wardrobe to accommodate my growing belly.
In baby news, little girl is growing, kicking up a storm and I am measuring a week small! Something I am not opposed to, one of my doctors said she could be around 7 lbs! J and I have been going to birthing class and trying to prepare for labor, if one can ever really prepare! It’s crazy to think that we only have about 6 weeks left. Where did all the time go? And on that note it’s time to end!

So this is a bit late going up, and all of my close family and friends have already know, but here goes… Last week I took a couple of days off of work to celebrate J’s birthday and on his birthday we found out what the tiny human I am growing is. We are both very excited and we could not be happier. So naturally I needed to pick out the perfect ensemble to be photographed in to share this news with everyone. But the one colour appropriate dress I have is in the no way I am fitting my pregnant ass in that pile. So, not to be boring, but I didn’t get around to taking pictures. But J and I had a few wonderful days together and with out further ado…
It’s a little girl and let me just say I can not wait to have all of our ensembles match, and play with Barbies , American Girl dolls and of course whatever she wants to play with. I can teach her all about Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones (although not for a while on the last one!) The fashion and my love of shoes I can pass down, my knowledge of classic rock and cult classics are uncanny.
Now comes the fun part of preparing the nursery and deciding on a name. We have been discussing a few contenders, but we have not decided on the name yet. I think the hardest part is choosing a name that flows well, that the initials don’t spell out something inappropriate, and that doesn’t sound made up. Preparing the nursery is definitely the biggest to-do on the list. We have picked out the colours and we have some repairs to do before we can get started on painting and decorating. And on that note, it’s time to end!

Today is Columbus Day, and I like many are off from work or school. This weekend was filled with a great balance of work and play. Saturday was spent at work, which went by very quickly considering that we were very busy. I prefer busy Saturdays to slow ones. Sunday on the other hand was all fun. J, our friends and J’s Mother went down to the Italian Fest in Kingston on the Strand. We went down pretty early and there were not a lot of people down there, which was nice. We walked around a bit, ducked into Next Boutique (their site is being revamped), I was eyeing this adorable Equipment blouse, but I wasn’t feeling very spendy. Then we stopped by Savona’s Trattoria, for a couple of drinks. Of course there were food vendors, but we decided to head back home and have some lunch. So J made some pizza and snacks and we hung out for a while. All in all a good weekend.
I spent my morning sleeping in, paying bills, cleaning the kitchen and doing some laundry. It’s been a pretty standard day off. Tomorrow we will be celebrating my younger Sister’s birthday. So it should be a good day! And on that note, it’s time to end!

Now that it’s October, I’ve been thinking of all the possibilities a new month brings. This month we will be celebrating my younger sister’s birthday (she’s growing up so fast)! This month there are two local events that I am very excited about, the first is the first Italian Festival in Kingston down on the Strand Columbus Day weekend. The second is the biannual Burning of Kingston, which is the weekend of the 16th-18th. There is a whole weekend full of activities, and I am super excited, I’ll probably just check out the reenactment on Sunday at Forsyth Park. Not to mention my growing excitement for Halloween! This years theme at work is the 1980s, which is perfect for what I have planned!
I go back to the Orthodontist on 10/20, no doubt to be told yet again that I will be getting my braces off, only to be disappointed to learn that is not the case once I get to my appointment. I’m sure I will be getting my bands changed. I think since it’s so close to Halloween, and I have my costume planned, I’ll go with a shade of blue.
I work three Saturdays in a row, the first was last week and the last next weekend. I know I shouldn’t complain, many have it much worse, I am just drained. Having one day off is not enough to get everything done, and I spend a lot of my day off during the week trying to catch up.
I am also looking forward to introducing my new A/W additions into the mix, I have worn a few of my new pieces so far. And on that note, it’s time to end!
