They were running through the rainbows…

Last week Breakfast at Kiki’s shared it’s 300th post.  Which is pretty damn awesome considering I feel as though I’ve hardly posted anything over the past few months.  But hey, I’ve been one busy lady growing this tiny human and all…

In the past eight months or so since my last milestone post (200, which you can check out here) so much in my life has changed.  In March I started as Head Teller in a new Branch with the bank.  And my Manager/Supervisor and Staff are awesome.  I am so glad that I made the move to the Bank, and although so much is changing there it’s really all for the best and were moving in a great direction as a branch and a financial institution.  Two weeks before I became Head Teller I found out that I was expecting.  Having a child wasn’t on the agenda for at least another year, but it wasn’t unwelcome either.  And even though my pregnancy over all hasn’t been to bad, it has taken a lot out of me.  So that was my March!

The rest of the spring and summer have been very much a blur, so much is going on and a lot of it is not going smoothly.  But that can be how life is sometimes.  And as my pregnancy has progressed I feel like I am running out of time.  There is still so much to do before baby girl arrives!  We still need to work on the nursery, make sure that we have everything set up for when she arrives, and it might be a good idea to decide on a name.

There is so much that I want for my daughter.  And I never could have imagined that you could love some one so much, without ever having met them.  J and I talk all the time about what we want for her and it’s crazy to think that in about three months we will finally get to met her.  I can’t help but wonder what the next few months hold…  Here’s to the next 100 posts!  And on that note, it’s time to end!

All for now,

I will travel across the land, searching far and wide…

I like my millennial counterparts have been swept up in a resurgence of Pokemon fever thanks to Pokemon Go.  Needless to say I am a little addicted.  It’s basically the way the old Game Boy games should have been…  If the technology could have been a good at the time.

For those of you not in the know, Pokemon Go is a game that allows users to catch Pokemon in the real world using AR or Augmented Reality.  Which is pretty much the coolest, because Pikachu is right in front of you, or sitting next to you on the couch.

Now there have been many reports of people getting mugged, assaulted, car wrecks and even dead bodies being discovered.  Now, I don’t know what reports are legitimate but some scary stuff has happened as an on set of the game.  Here are some of my tips for playing safely, so you can catch them all!

  1. Don’t catch Pokemon and drive.  I can’t believe that in 2016 this is a foreign concept.  The point of the game is to find Pokemon in the world.  So put your phone down, park your car and go for a walk.  But if you must drive, pull over safely, or have a passenger play for you.
  2. Don’t play in areas you don’t know.  There is nothing worse then not knowing where you are and staring down at your phone that cost at least a couple hundred dollars.  This could be dangerous, you could be mugged, assaulted, or worse.  And also maybe don’t play alone.  Use the buddy system people!
  3. If playing at night wear light coloured clothing.  This would be the perfect time to break out that super old Pikachu tee, not only will it be very in, but the bright yellow allows you to be seen when it is dark.
  4. Look both ways before you cross the street. In fact maybe be alert at all times, and if you just can’t break away from your phone, maybe bring a friend who is not to keen on the game to be your eyes and ears so you can finally catch that Charizard.
  5. Have fun, that’s the point!

The other day I caught a Jigglypuff and it was super awesome!  I know I probably won’t catch all the Pokemon, but I enjoy the game.  Especially when better ones start showing up.  I, like many I am sure, are so over the Pidgeys, Weedles, and Rattatas.  But I do enjoy walking around and finding some cool stuff.  And on that note it’s time to end!

Hot summer nights, mid July When you and I were forever wild…

Hello friends, I know I’ve been away for a while.  Between work, helping my brother start a business and being pregnant during the summer I haven’t had much time to sit and write.

Over the past two weeks all of my favourite bloggers have been sharing their Nordstrom Anniversary finds, and I wish I could follow suit, but this year there was very little that spoke to me.  I am afraid to buy clothes for after baby, because well, I don’t know how quickly I will loose the baby weight.  And there was no A/W maternity styles on sale.  So I decided to check out A Pea In The Pod, which has some great quality brands I love, and the sale prices were an additional 40% off!!!!  I got some pieces that will hold me for the rest of my pregnancy (I hope!).

I picked up two Equipment blouses, who knew they had maternity styles?  I am hoping that they are going to work after baby too, because, well they are pretty bitchin’.  I ordered three dresses, they all just so happened to be from Seraphine, one black short sleeve, one blue patterned, and a long sleeve black printed that looks like something Ted Baker would offer.  I also broke down and purchased maternity jeans.  I really need them for weekends and days off.  my normal go to pairs are not cutting it any more.  I settled on a 7 For All Mankind boot cut, I have never bought a pair of $200 jeans before I hope they are worth it, they were discounted to $99 plus 40% off, so it was like how much every other pair I own cost.  And I rounded out my order with two long sleeve tops and two pairs of stockings.

I plan to eventually add some nursing attire in the next few months for when baby arrives, but I got what I needed for now.  My next purchase regardless of where from will no doubt need to contain some sweaters for A/W, some comfy pajamas, and maybe a fuzzy robe or two for those late night feedings my friends with children tell me about!  And on that note, it’s time to end!

As if everybody would know exactly what I was talking about

This month’s playlist is exploring some of my favourite Paul Simon tracks.  Paul Simon is one of those artists that you can listen to at almost anytime in your life and a song you never paid much mind to instantly becomes your anthem.

1.Kodachrome

2. Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes

3. Me and Julio Down by the School Yard

4. 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover

5. Rene and Georgette Magritte and Their Dog After the War

6. Train in the Distance

7. Slip Sliding Away

8. Mother and Child Reunion

9. Loves Me Like a Rock

10. Have a Good Time

11. Call Me Al

12. Graceland

13. Obvious Child

A lot of his music is on the singer/songwriter side.  It’s melodic, prolific, and calm.  It’s great to put on and chill.  I have been listening to this music since I was a young child, and I still love it.  The memories that these songs hold are some of my favourites.  And on that note, it’s time to end!

So come on pretty baby, we’re going to raise a family…

So this is a bit late going up, and all of my close family and friends have already know, but here goes…  Last week I took a couple of days off of work to celebrate J’s birthday and on his birthday we found out what the tiny human I am growing is.  We are both very excited and we could not be happier.  So naturally I needed to pick out the perfect ensemble to be photographed in to share this news with everyone.  But the one colour appropriate dress I have is in the no way I am fitting my pregnant ass in that pile.  So, not to be boring, but I didn’t get around to taking pictures.  But J and I had a few wonderful days together and with out further ado…

It’s a little girl and let me just say I can not wait to have all of our ensembles match, and play  with Barbies , American Girl dolls and of course whatever she wants to play with.  I can teach her all about Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones (although not for a while on the last one!)  The fashion and my love of shoes I can pass down, my knowledge of classic rock and cult classics are uncanny.

Now comes the fun part of preparing the nursery and deciding on a name.  We have been discussing a few contenders, but we have not decided on the name yet.  I think the hardest part is choosing a name that flows well, that the initials don’t spell out something inappropriate, and that doesn’t sound made up.  Preparing the nursery is definitely the biggest to-do on the list.  We have picked out the colours and we have some repairs to do before we can get started on painting and decorating.  And on that note, it’s time to end!
