Career opportunities are the ones that never knock…

Changing jobs can be scary, but I was more than ready for a change of scenery.  I will miss my CU family, but I was very excited to start fresh at the Bank.  Since it was my first day I wanted to wear something super professional and classic.  I decided pretty early on that I would wear my Calvin Klein suit.  It’s black, has a slightly more modern cut which is nice, because sometimes pant suits can make you look and feel like a politician.  I also wore my favourite black patent leather Ivanka Trump pumps, and for my blouse I decided on my oldie but goodie, black pussy bow blouse from NY & Co., it’s a blouse that has been in my rotation for about five years, and it still looks great, fits well, and always makes an ensemble look put together.  I kept my make up tasteful, as one should, I also kept my accessories to a minimum, I wore pearl earrings (GASP! I wore matching earrings, who would have ever thunk it…).

My first day consisted of getting up super early to get ready.  I spent a lot of time blowing my hair out and doing my nails yesterday.  I drank a bit more coffee than I’d like to admit, before heading off to work.  Orientation was just as expected, I got a photo taken for my identification badge, I was issued an access thing, we filled out paperwork, got set up for systems that we need to access, and we were given a lot of information.  I had an hour for lunch which was amazing, I hardly knew what to do with myself (I haven’t had an hour for lunch in a very long time).  In the cafeteria they have these super fancy coffee makers that grind the beans then brew coffee, it can even make an Americano, or a Cappuccino!  Tomorrow is another day of training, I’m looking forward to this new chapter of my life, and career.  And on that note it’s time to end.

All for now,
