Cherry lips, crystal skies…

White midi dress from Asos

Friday I wore my newly acquired Asos sleeveless midi dress.  I bought this dress in October of last year, and it wasn’t really time for it.  Not only am I very old fashioned about not wearing white before Memorial Day, but I feel white is just better in summer.  It’s clean, crisp, and classic.  Now that the weather is warming up I am super excited to wear it.  I strongly feel that this is the most versatile piece in my S/S wardrobe and I will get so much wear out of it!  I styled my dress with my favourite J. Crew Factory light blue boat sweater that I picked up last spring and have been in love with it ever since! And my Tommy Hilfiger two piece d’Orsay flats I picked them up from my local Macy’s last spring. I saw them in the shoe department and they had to come home with me!  It took a long time to break these shoes in but I am so glad that I stuck with it, they are the perfect addition to any preppy gals S/S wardrobe (reminiscent of seersucker)!  I got a lot of complements on my ensemble.

I love how easy this dress is.  I can easily take this piece from day to night.  I wore it belted with a cardi last week and it was a hit then.  I could also wear a skirt over the dress for a different look, for work I would still need a sweater or blazer.  I’m also excited to wear this dress over pants like it’s the early 00s, which would be perfect for girl’s night or brunch.  Here are some pics from today.  I have a feeling that this dress will be a favourite of mine for seasons to come!  And I can’t forget the pasta salad I made from my recipe share was a hit for food day at work!  And on that note, it’s time to end!

Tommy Hilfiger flats.

All for now,
