I had a really rough morning… After a big project that occurred last night after closing I had to “clean up” so to speak. In preparation of that I decided to get up a bit earlier (10 minutes is a long time when you have your routine down to a science!), and I wore a super awesome ensemble! I typically post my (#OOTD)s my Instagram, but I decided to mix it up a little bit! My ensemble today was monochromatic, with a pop of colour from my shoes. I felt very inspired from the 1920s and 1930s, also old images of Katherine Hepburn wearing her menswear. I opted for an old white blouse with black lace yoke and sleeves, the sleeves have ruffles on them (I love frilly, lacy, girly things). I wore black pinstripe high wasted wide-leg trousers, they are also older, but I love them just the same, and with my petite frame, a good wide-leg goes a long way. As for shoes, I inserted my pop of colour with my pink Dr. Scholl’s sandals. I freaking love these, they are the most comfortable and considering that the wedge is wood, they are very light weight. My ensemble coupled with my Coco Chanel meets 1970s punk hair was too cute not to share!
My blouse was a gift from my mother from two Christmas’ ago. It’s Express, I don’t typically shop there for myself, because I find the music to be too loud and there is never a dressing room attendant in my local store. I feel the overall quality is good, but the prices are steep. (similar) My trousers are from Victoria’s Secret, I got those years ago when I was starting to wear more “grown up” and more professional (similar) My Dr. Scholl’s were a great find last S/S. I was in the market for new sandals and this pair fit the bill in a big way. I wear them all the time. Not only are the super comfy, as I tend to be on my feet a lot when I work, but for being pink, they are a really easy to style shade! (similar) And on that note it’s time to end!
