Spring blossoms you to me…

Spring is slowly trying to peek through, and with the nice, sunny, almost seasonally normal weather we have been having in the Hudson Valley, I have finally had a chance to break out my spring clothes! I have been coming up with ensembles I want to try basically all winter long and now that it’s finally coming to a close I thought it might be a good time to share some of my favourite pieces as well as some new additions and how I plan to style them. I am in the process of adding some new S/S15 items, and with the release of Lilly Pulitzer x Target tomorrow, I will be well on my way. I’m also waiting for my bonus from work to get another (or two or three) gift cards to take some of the burden off of my wallet!

I’m so excited to wear some of my favourites from last year and even earlier, like my J. Crew Factory finds from last year: eyelet peter pan collar blouse, boat sweater, khaki skimmer pants, and gingham button up. J. Crew is easily my favourite store, everything fits well, is made to last and so easy to mix and match. I am constantly checking the sale section for in season finds that are discounted. And J. Crew factory often has similar offerings to the full price big sister with out breaking the bank.

Next would be my sundresses, I own several that I have collected over the past few years. Sundresses are my Spring/Summer weakness, they are just so easy to wear/style and I WEAR them a lot! You can wear a sundress to work, play, the beach, brunch, even out for date night. Choosing my favourite is really hard, since I wear them all, but if I had to choose I would have to narrow it down to two, one from Gap that I don’t even remember when I bought it. It’s black, sleeveless and has a ruffle collar, this will be in my closet until it’s threadbare and then when it is I will wear a black slip underneath it, that’s how much I love this thing! I’m wearing it today and even though we aren’t really doing anything special. It’s just further proof that when the sun’s out that sun dresses are my go to! Since this particular dress is so old, finding similar items proved to be a slight challenge here are some of my favourite black options from Asos: here, here, and here. The second would be a navy v-neck short sleeve with a big sailboat print, it’s From G.H. Bass, I picked it up at the outlets in 2012. I love this one because I can wear it to work and not even have to try, it’s just that simple (in a nautical east coast preppy sort of way).

Spring also means sandal season and letting my little piggies hang out! I have been waiting to wear my Dr. Scholl’s pink sandals I picked up last year. I wore them all the time, for being pink, they are also a really easy to style shade. It’s also going to be time to break out my Jimmy Choo flats I think I picked them up in 2010 or 2011 (I even had my own sort of Pretty Woman moment when I bought them…) they are one of if not the most well made and comfortable pairs of shoes I have ever purchased or have ever owned. My Tommy Hilfiger two piece flats that just had to come home with me after spotting them in my local Macy’s last spring, while they are not the most comfortable, I still love them any way, and they are really easy to style with most of my S/S wardrobe. I’m also looking forward to wearing skirts and sundresses with my Kate Spade New York Kick Keds. They are the cutest little sneaks I’ve ever seen and based on the fact that that not only have the cutest little polka dot pattern, but they also have one dot that is striped?! I know I’ve mentioned them before but just behold the awesomeness that is these sneakers! And on that note it’s time to end!

All for now,
